Bordering the Bellevue Golf Course

If you enjoy golf, or simply appreciate a quiet, pastoral setting, your home could be waiting for you at Bellevue on the Green. Situated on a high plateau overlooking the Upper Mississippi River, you have big-sky views as the sun rises over the bluffs on the Illinois side of the river and sets into the western hills on the Iowa side.

Rich in history and natural beauty, Bellevue is undergoing a resurgence as people discover what the area has to offer:

A beautiful riverfront walk that stretches along the Mississippi River, paved with cobblestones, and studded with trees, flowerbeds, benches, and gazebos.

Bellevue State Park, which has spectacular overlooks of the Mississippi River, a large butterfly garden, Indian mounds, and hiking trails.

Within 8 miles of Bellevue are a wealth of other outdoor recreational venues:  Big Mill State Wildlife area, Green Island State Wildlife Refuge, Pleasant Creek Federal Recreation Area, John Henry Weber Park, Duck Creek Park, and Mill Creek Park.

Twenty-three miles farther afield is the river port of Dubuque, an historic city settled in 1788. It has preserved its past with five historic districts, three national landmarks and a vibrant riverfront area with conventions, shops and recreation, including the popular National Mississippi River Museum and Aquarium.

Chestnut Mountain Ski Resort can be viewed across the river from Bellevue on the Green. South of Galena, Illinois, the resort offers year round recreation.  Nine lifts provide spectacular views of the river valley in the winter, and summer visitors are drawn to the Alpine Sled (a wheeled sled on a 2,000 foot toboggan track), plus a stable, hiking trails and retail venues.
